I have an Optus branded E71. Haven’t found a way to get rid of the Optus Zoo link, but I’ve moved the icon to a folder I never use (“Help”). It’s not gone completely, but at least it’s out of sight and out of mind.

Thanks a lot, my phone was originally stuck with the pink t-mobile branding. Now it’s like it was supplied sim-free, cheers

@Kev: Yes, gets rid of absolutely everything except an "Optus Zoo" entry in the main menu, which I haven't found a way removing yet.

Mate this thing worked a gem, your instructions are clear and on the money.

Anyone who has an Australian version of the Nokia, don’t be afraid to flash using this method. Just take your time and follow the steps as described.

Thank you very much. I had a TIM branded E71 and when I have updated it with the new firmware made by TIm (full of junk appps)it was full of bugs: the *#0000# and *#06# didn’t work anymore, the phone stoped responding when a new sms was received and many more. Now it works just fine.
